Female Disability Support Worker
Wings Community Services – Brisbane north side

Wings Community Services is a growing, values-driven NDIS provider committed to delivering person-centred, respectful, and high-quality supports to people living with disability. We are currently seeking reliable and compassionate Casual Disability Support Workers to join our team in a sleepover-supported home environment.

This role is ideal for experienced support workers who are flexible, dependable, and open to ongoing opportunities, with the potential to transition into a Permanent Part-Time role for the right candidate.

About the Role

You will be supporting participants in a supported accommodation / sleepover house setting, assisting with daily living activities and community participation while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

This position requires availability for at least 3 sleepover shifts per fortnight.

Shifts will include a mix of weekday and weekend work, offering variety and consistency.

Shift Types May Include

  • Morning long shifts
  • Morning short shifts (4 hours)
  • Afternoon / evening shifts (4 hours)
  • Sleepover shifts
  • Weekend shifts

Flexibility is required; however, a fixed roster may be offered to staff who demonstrate permanent availability and suitability across different shift types.

Key Responsibilities

Provide person-centred disability support aligned with individual care plans
Assist with daily living tasks (personal care, meal preparation, household tasks as required)
Support participants with routines, social engagement, and community access
Complete accurate shift notes, incident reports, and documentation as required
Maintain participant safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times
Work collaboratively with coordinators, families, and stakeholders
Comply with NDIS Practice Standards, policies, and procedures

Mandatory Requirements

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability / Individual Support
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card – QLD)
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Ability to commit to minimum 3 sleepovers per fortnight
  • Strong communication skills and professional boundaries
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a person-centred approach

Highly Desirable

  • +Experience in SDA / SIL or sleepover environments
  • +Experience supporting participants with complex needs or behaviours
  • +Medication competency
  • +Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Pay & Conditions

  • Employment under the SCHADS Award – Level 2.1
  • Applicable penalty rates, sleepover allowances, and weekend rates apply
  • Casual loading paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award
  • Shifts allocated based on availability, performance, and participant needs
